Environmental Management with a Public’s Participation Process in Na-Ngua Sub-District Municipality Muang Phetchabun Phetchabun Province

Abstract

This research consists purposes were 1. to study the level of public participation in environmental management of Nan-gua Subdistrict Municipality Mueang District Phetchabun Province and 2. to study recommendations for public participation in environmental management of Na-ngua Subdistrict Municipality Mueang District Phetchabun Province. This is a quantitative research. The research instrument is a questionnaire. The sample group is 383 people, calculated from the sample size using Taro Yamane's (1973) at an error level of 0.05, which comes from accidental sampling. The data collected from the questionnaires were analyzed using descriptive statistics, including percentages, means, and standard deviations. The research results found that 1) The study of the level of public participation in environmental management of Na-ngua Subdistrict Municipality Mueang District Phetchabun Province is at a moderate level (x̅= 3.46, S.D.= 0.16) and 2) Recommendations for public participation in environmental management of Na-ngua Subdistrict Municipality 1) All sectors of the public should be encouraged to participate in thinking, doing, examining and following up on the results of operations 2) Environmental policy management and development should be efficient transparent and auditable 3) The public or stakeholders should be supported and encouraged to have the opportunity to express their opinions and participate in various activities that affect the quality of life and well-being of the public and 4) Awareness of effective operations should be created which will lead to sustainable development and environmental management.
