Subjectivity of Solo Motorcyclists

Abstract

This research consists purposes were to study the subjective experiences of solo touring motorcycle riders. This is a qualitative research with a semi-structured interview form as the research instrument. The target group of the research is 15 people consisting of (1) 10 solo touring motorcycle riders and (2) 5 other informants. The information gathered from interview forms and related documents were then content analysis. The research results found that 1) excitement and melancholy from escaping daily life 2) fear and concern for safety and family 3) feelings of missing nostalgia and loneliness fostering mental resilience and 4) selfishness freedom and the pursuit of personal time focusing on personal happiness and enjoyment
