The Effects of Learning Management Through Task-based Learning Approach to Promote English Speaking Skills of the Ninth Grade Students

Abstract

This research consists were 1.to compare English speaking skill after using a task-based learning approach of Mattayomsuksa 3 students and 2. to study students’ satisfactions toward a task-based learning approach. This research is quantitative research. There are the research tools including 1) Lesson plans to enhance speaking skill, 2) the satisfaction assessments toward the development of English speaking skill 3) Pre-test and Posttest of speaking skill. The study was developed in a quasi-experimental design. The information gathered from (1) lesson plans to enhance speaking skills (2) the satisfaction assessment, and (3) a pre-post-test. The samples were 35 Mattayomsuksa 3 students in the second semester of 2023 academic year at Rajavinit Mathayom School. Data were analyzed by using the descriptive statistics, including mean and standard deviation and the test statistic (t-test). The result of the study found that, 1) the students’ speaking skills after using task-based learning approach were significantly higher than before at .05 level and 2) the students’ satisfactions toward a task-based learning approach was at a high level (x̅= 4.48, S.D.= 0.71)
