The Political Participationin Local Government of Women in Huaypong Sub-District Nongphai District Phetchabun Province

Abstract

This research consists purposes were 1. to study the political participation in local government of women  2. to study problems and obstacles of the political participation in local government of women 3. to study the factors affecting of the political participation in local government of women and 4. to study the guidelines for solving problems and obstacles of the Political participation in local government of women. This research was mixed methods research that collected quantitative and qualitative data. The research tools include questionnaire and interview form The sample group were 333 women aged 18 years and older.Using the Taro Yamane  (1973) at an error level of 0.05 ,by stratified random sampling and 12 people target group for the research.  The data collected from the questionnaire were then analyzed using descriptive statistics consisting of percentages, averages, and values standard deviation. Data collected from interviews and various related  documents were then content analysis. The research results found that 1)political participation in local government of women in Huai Pong Sub-district, Nong Phai district, Phetchabun province Overall, it is at a moderate level (x̄=3.38, S.D.=0.52) 2)The problems and obstacles about political participation in local government of women in Huay pong sub-district, Nongphai district, Phetchabun province was low level (x̄ = 2.27, S.D.=0.63) 3) The education, income and position in the community affects for the local political participation of women and 4)The solution to problems and obstacles to political participation were 4.1) development women's careers and income or increased income 4.2) building women's self-confidence and developing women's abilities in project writing 4.3) encouraging women to have opportunities to do activities together, coordinate and build strong partnerships.
