Abstract

This research consists purposes were 1. to study the representation of characters in Chui Chai dance by Wanthanee Muangboon and 2. to study the design of Chui Chai dance by Wanthanee Muangboon. is a qualitative research There is a research tool which is an Interviews forms The target group is a group of 3 knowledgeable people a group of 4 people who practice, and a group of 10 general information providers that come from a specific selection method. The information gathered from interview forms and related documents were then content analysis. The research findings indicate that 1) The presentation of characters in performances Begins with studying characters in literature. Analyzes personalities and conveys them through the script. Emphasizes physical, social, and psychological characteristics. Leads to the selection of actors, costume design, music, and choreography and 2) The Choreography is tailored to match melodies and lyrics. Divided into “ram tee bot” (rhythmic dance based on lyrics) and “ram sat tha” (free-flowing dance based on melody). Dance movements come from theatrical gestures, basic postures, and invented movements. Combined to appropriately convey meaning and beauty. Choreography has unique characteristics based on the character's structure and performance style.
