The Development of Summary Writing Skill Using A 5-Step Learning Activity (5 STEPs) Together with an Exercise for Mathayomsuksa 3 Students.

Abstract

This research consists purposes were 1. to develop a learning management plans on a summary writing skill using the 5 STEPs learning activity and an exercise for Mathayomsuksa 3 students to achieve an efficiency of 75/75 2. to compare the summary writing skill of Mathayomsuksa 3 students with the criteria of 75% 3 to find the learning efficiency index and 4. to study the satisfaction level of the students towards the learning activity using the 5 STEPs learning activity and an exercise. is a experimental research There is a research tool which is an learning management plans, multiple-choice achievement test and a satisfaction questionnaire.  The statistical analysis used in this research included mean, standard deviation, and dependent samples t-test. The results of this study were as followings: 1) The learning management plans on a summary writing skill using the 5 STEPs learning activity and an exercise for Mathayomsuksa 3 students had an efficiency (E₁/E₂) with a score of 78.37/79.26, which was higher than the set criteria of 75%. 2) The comparison of the Mathayomsuksa 3 students’ summary writing skill of using the 5 STEPs learning activity together with an exercise showed that their average score (x̅= 23.78, S.D. = 1.13) after studying was significantly higher than the criteria of 75% at the .05 level. 3) The results of studying efficiency index by using the learning management plans on the subject of summary writing skills by applying the 5-step learning activity (5 STEPs) and an exercise for Mathayomsuksa 3 students was found that the value was 0.7053 or 70.53%. The students had a better development than before studying. and 4) The satisfaction of Mathayomsuksa 3 students after receiving the learning management on the summary writing skills by using the 5 STEPs learning activity together with an exercise overall was at a high level (x̅= 4.16, S.D. = 0.70).
