Study on Impacts of Covid 19 Pandemic on International Tourism.

Abstract

This research consists purposes were 1. to study factors affecting changes in the number of tourists and income during the COVID-19 outbreak 2. to group countries according to the nature of the change in the number of tourists and change in tourism income during the COVID-19 outbreak, using a level and trend method and 3. to study the grouping among different countries, in relation to the change in the number of tourists and the change in tourism income during the COVID-19 outbreak. We employed a multivariate regression model to estimate the parameters of interest. The target groups are grouped according to the list of countries according to geographical regions, totaling 91 countries. Then, the data collected from research tools and other related information documents are analyzed by regression equations. The results revealed that 1) factors significantly determine variation of number of tourists was lockdown index. Factors that affect changes in tourism income are lockdown index and public health expenditure 2) Using quadrant analysis to divide groups of country into 4 groups which are 2.1) still (Q1) 2.2) strong (Q2) 2.3) volatile (Q3) and 2.4) massive (Q4) and 3) the number of countries consist in each group are 24 11 48 and 8 countries respectively for number of tourist and 38 6 40 and 7 countries respectively for tourism income.
