Factors Affecting Work Efficiency of Academic Support Staff at Mahasarakham University.

Abstract

This research has three purposes were 1. to study the operational factors and the performance of the academic support staff 2. to compare opinions on operational factors and efficiency in the performance of the employees according to their age, education level, affiliated agency, average monthly income and different operating experiences, and 3. to investigate relationship between those factors and the impact of operational factors. This quantitative research and a research tool, namely questionnaires, with a sample group of 260 academic support staff from the sample size determination. By opening the tables of Krejcie & Morgan and doing a simple random draw. The data collected from the questionnaire were analyzed using a descriptive statistical program consisting of percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, F-test, multiple correlation analysis. and multiple regression analysis. The results showed that 1) academic supporting staff emphasized factors related to performance at a high level overall and at each aspect at high level (x̅= 4.02) 2) The academic support staff of different ages and departments focused on operational factors and their work efficiency differently. However, the academic support staff with different education levels, average monthly income, and different operating experiences indifferently did not focus on operational factors and operational efficiency differently and 3) The operational factors and operational efficiency were related to the impacts as overall and at each aspect. Recommendation from this research is that the university should pay attention to staff and promote the development of talents and listen to the opinions of academic support staff. The staff should be allowed to use their abilities, talents, and methodology to perform quality work on time. The university should promote and provide rewards to serve the job duty and responsibility. The university should also promote morale and professional spirit by providing rewards or compensation increments when the staff achieve success according to organization goals.
