Integrated and Collaborative Area Development for Comprehensive and Precise Solutions for Poverty Alleviation Case Study of Mukdahan Province Phase 1.

Abstract

This research consists purposes were to 1. support the creation of poverty data system and the monitoring of poverty alleviation assistance in Mukdahan province 2. design mechanisms, research methodologies, and tools for area-based development in supporting poverty alleviation works in Mukdahan province 3. monitor and analyze data on the poor as well as foster area-based development mechanisms for poverty alleviation in Mukdahan province and 4. synthesize both area-based data at household level and area-based works for poverty alleviation in Mukdahan province in order to make area-based policy recommendations. is a combination of qualitative and quantitative research. The research tools were questionnaires and interview forms. A total of 3,320 households were sampled using Taro Yamane's formula at an error level of 0.05, and the target group of 50 people was selected by selective means. The data collected from the questionnaire were analyzed using descriptive statistics consisting of percentage, mean, standard deviation. and use the information gathered from various documents and interview forms to content analysis The results showed that 1) poverty data systems were supported by paying field visits to 5,060 targeted households for collecting data, which were later recorded in area-based work support systems for comprehensive and precise poverty alleviation (www.livingonnewpace.com) 2) The area development tools included poor household database systems in both livingonnewpace and pppconnext, which were analyzed. The research clinic was established in order to pass on data and poverty assistance to other relevant agencies for further actions 3) The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on poverty alleviation was made in order to disseminate poor household data for the purpose of collaboration with other public agencies, state enterprises and private sectors (in the total of 6 ministries and 8 entities) and 4) The Japanese sweet potato cultivation pilot project for poverty alleviation was introduced to 60 people in 2 communities: Baan Kham Phak Kud and Baan Sa Wae in Koktum sub-district, Dong Luang district. Policy recommendations for poverty alleviation in Mukdahan province were made and incorporated in Mukdahan Provincial 5-Year Development Plan 2023-2027.
