Abstract

Organization of learning activities for developing learners in the art
learning strand (dramatic art strand) is one activity which is prescribed in the
curriculum. It aims for learners to practice skill in creating personality and to
generate and adhere art and culture in accordance to the socio-economic
conditions and to catch up with economic advancements. Activities are broad,
flexible with universality and content necessary to learning the present world.
Also, activities provide opportunities for learners, community or society to
participate in determining and developing curriculums to be various and in
accordance with being. The purpose of the study was to develop Soeng Dok Fai
Ban dancing styles in supplement to learning in the Art Learning Strand (Dramatic
Arts Strand) Ban Non-Swan School. The study was conducted in the following
stage : (1) Surveying needs for developing soeng dok fai ban dancing styles to
find out basic data about the needs for using manual in supplement to learning
and teaching on soeng dok fai ban dancing styles by means of observation,
informal interviews and focus group discussion. The data would be used for
developing soeng dok fai ban dancing styles. The instruments used for collecting
data were an observation form and an interview form (2) developing soeng dok
fai ban dancing styles by development participate consisted of local sages
parent teachers and learners by mean of observation and informal and focus
group discussion. Then correctness and appropriateness of the soeng dok fai ban
dancing styles were checked y the development participant of the soeng dok fai
ban dancing styles and irregular experts in curricula development and cotton
wearing. Then data were used to improve for completeness according to
experts’ recommendation. The instruments used for collecting data were an
interview form and evaluation form on soeng dok fai ban dancing styles for
checking (3) trying out soeng dok fai ban dancing styles according to the contents

and essences as determined in the plans for organization of learning. The user
were 3 dramatic arts teachers and 30 Dramatic Arts Club Students and (4)
evaluating the use of dancing styles in supplement of learning in the Art Learning
Strand (Dramatic Art Strand) on soeng dok fai ban dancing styles. They were
evaluation of products comprising knowledge process and attitude. The
instruments used for collecting were plans for dramatic arts teaching, a learning
achievement test on dok fai ban (an objective test and subjective test), a
practice skill evaluation form on soeng dok fai ban dancing, marked by means of
Rubric Score, an evaluation form on appropriateness of the process and scale on
satisfaction with the of manual for developing dancing styles in supplement to
learning and teaching of dramatic arts on soeng dok fai ban dancing of teachers,
students and parents.
The results of the study were as follows :
1. The results of surveying data in the group development participants
could be summarized that the group of development participants showed
satisfaction, interest, and needs for having development of soeng dok fai ban
dancing styles because the styles were in accordance with local occupation, and
the dancing was conservation of Thai dramatic arts in Isan to be in existence. The
group of development participants was interested in participation in the activities
of Dramatic Arts Club. The participants were proud and ready to provide
cooperation in developing soeng dok fai ban dancing styles. The development of
dancing styles which were generated from an application of the cloth-wearing
process for use together with dramatic arts dancing styles could provide
beautiful soeng dok fai ban dancing styles which were originated from real local
wisdom. The group of development participants learned new things and learned
soeng dok fai ban dancing styles which were not too difficult. Every participant
could train dancing. So it could be concluded that there should be development


of soeng dok fai ban dancing styles and conservation of dancing styles concerning
Isan tradition to be in existence in the future.
2. For the results of developing soeng dok fai ban dancing styles,
totally 13 soeng dancing styles were obtained. The obtained dancing styles were
from stages of cotton-cloth wearing, beginning from using raw material to
transform to be threads, thread dyeing, and cloth wearing. Dramatic arts skills
were used as media to realize more local occupation value. Also, local musical
instruments which created rhythms and melodies including dressing could cause
the development of soeng dok fai ban dancing styles to have more beauty. A
manual for developing soeng dok fai ban dancing styles was obtained for
organization of learning-teaching activities in the art learning strand (dramatic arts
strand).
3. The results of try out soeng dok fai ban dancing styles reviewed
that the art learning strand (dramatic art strand) had an efficiency of process and
an efficiency of outcome (E1/E2) of 83.17/87.85. Therefore, the plans for organization
of learning activities entitled soeng dok fai ban dancing styles had were efficient
with was higher than the established requirement. An effectiveness index of the
plans for organization of learning activities entitled soeng dok fai ban dancing
styles had were efficient with was higher than the established required. An
effectiveness index of the plans for organization of learning activities entitled
soeng dok fai ban dancing styles in the art learning strand (dramatic art strand)
for Dramatic Art Club Students was 0.8154, or at 81.54 percent. The learners
increased their learning outcomes from before learning at the .05 level of
statistical significant, and increased their process skills and attitudes toward
learning from before learning.
4. The results of evaluating the uses of soeng dok fai ban dancing
styles showed appropriateness and accordance with the needs at learners and

teachers. Also, the learners showed their satisfaction with the activities. The
organization of learning was efficient. The learners had knowledge, process skills
and positive attitudes towards the development of dancing styles. It could be
concluded the developed local wisdom was appropriate and accordance with
the needs of the learners and locality because the dancing styles were developed
from the participation of those involved. They could be efficiently used for
organization of learning according to learners’ potential. Those involved could
sue the manual in supplement to learning and teaching soeng dok fai ban
dancing for developing organization of learning as appropriate.
In conclusion, organization of learning activities in the art learning strand
(dramatic art strand) using the manual for the developing dancing styles in
supplement to organization of learning activities entitled soeng dok fai ban
dancing could cause learners to increase knowledge and dancing skills according
to the dramatic art strand and to be able to local identity and to conserve
beautiful art and culture in the future.
