A Construction the test of Emotional-Metal and Social Readiness For 2nd Early Childhood from the Mahasarakham Primary Educational Service Area Office 1.

Abstract

Enquiring the children’s emotional-mental and social readiness is very important. It
can help us to investigate and understand their actual emotional-mental and social readiness and
we can help them improve some of their emotional-mental and social readiness. These
objective were to construct the test of emotional-mental and social readiness, and to build
the norm for 2nd early childhood The sample of this research was 2nd early childhood in
the second semester of the academic year 2010 selected with 500 for 32 schools affiliated
with the Mahasarakham Primary Educational Service Area Office 1 by Multi-Stage Random
Sampling. Which were tested for three times. The first and the second testing time were to
examine the level of difficulty and discrimination index by item to item using 100 children
each and the third was to examine the level of difficulty and discrimination index by item to
item and the whole of the test using 300 children. Instruments used in this research were
the test of the emotional-metal and social readiness. The test was oriented image with three
multiple choices covering four parts : 1) the first test was about the children surroundings, 2) the
second test was about the importance of places, 3) the third test was about the people’s
rules, and 4) the last test was about living with others and having morals and ethical values.
To find a quality of the test, Index of Item-Objective Congruence (IOC), difficulty (p),
discrimination and reliability. To construct normalized T-score by percentile (PR).
The results of research were as follows :
1. Result of find the quality of test of emotional-metal and social readiness were
4 tests, 10 items each, total amount to 40 items, was Index of Item-Objective Congruence
(IOC) from 0.60 to 1.00.
2. Result construction the test of the emotional-metal and social readiness,
quality for 2nd early childhood from three experiments were :
2.1 The first testing were 4 tests, 10 items each, total amount to 40 items,
had appropriate quality 32 items. The difficulty values of each item ranged from .41 to .56
and discrimination values of each item ranged from .26 to .67
2.2 The second testing were 4 tests, 8 items each, total amount to 32 items,
had appropriate quality 32 items. The difficulty values of each item ranged from .31 to .57
and discrimination values of each item ranged from .33 to .74
2.3 Selected 5 questions from each 4 tests, there was in total 20 questions
and then do the third test to find the quality.
2.3.1 The difficulty values of each item ranged from .41 to .61 and discrimination
values of each item ranged from .33 to .78
2.3.2 The reliabilities of the test of emotional-metal and social readiness
for 2nd early childhood. It was found that all of reliabilities ranged from 0.81 to 0.89 and
reliabilities of the test and value to 0.85.
3. Results of the construction normalized T-score showed that normal of the
emotional-metal and social readiness for 2nd early childhood from the Mahasarakham
Primary Educational Service Area Office 1 was T22 to T62. The results were as follows :
3.1 The Most of 2nd early childhood with the readiness of a relatively high
number of 101 people, representing 33.67 percent
3.2 The readiness of emotional-metal and social a moderate level of 146
people, representing 48.67 percent
3.3 The readiness of a relatively low number of 39 people, representing
13.00 percent.
3.4 The readiness of a minimum of 14 people, representing 4.66 percent. In
conclusion, a construction the test had appropriate quality and were able to be implemented
testing of 2nd early childhood.
