It is considered a comprehensive elephant tourism attraction. However, in recent years, its popularity has declined, leading to a loss of income necessary for elephant care. This research aims to study and develop effective promotional media to boost tourism. A mixed-methods approach was used, combining qualitative data collection through field surveys and interviews with one project staff member, and quantitative data gathered via questionnaires from 113 participants. Part 1: Analysis of Tourism Behavior 1.When thinking of Surin Province, most respondents associated it with elephants (37.9%) and the Elephant Festival (21.8%) 2.The primary decision-makers for visiting the Elephant World Project were family members (61.1%) and individuals themselves (31.9%) 3.The most common way respondents learned about the project was through social media (43.2%), followed by recommendations from friends and family (20.7%) 4.The most appealing qualities of Thai elephants, according to respondents, were their playful and adorable nature (65.5%) and their intelligence (20.4%) 5.The most preferred elephant-related tourism activities were learning about the way of life of people and elephants (60.2%) and participating in activities with elephants (20.4%). Part 2: Findings on Promotional Media Design 1.The most preferred logo design style was the Combination Mark (61.9%), followed by the Mascot Mark (20.4%) 2.The most suitable font style for promotional materials was Sans Serif (47.8%), followed by Serif (28.3%) 3.The most appropriate color theme for the design was Natural (15.9%), followed by Friendly (10.2%) 4.The preferred illustration style was Graphic Illustration (66.4%).
Krit Tulvandhana Naruemon Chueachai Supatra Lookraks Duangrat Danthainum Copyright (c) 2025 Faculty of Industrial Technology, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0 2025-06-30 2025-06-30 6 1 2 11 Interactive Media Design for Support Cultural Tourism Destination at Pak Phli District, Nakhon Nayok Province https://so02.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/jdecho/article/view/276631
Nakhon Nayok is one of the secondary cities with a provincial development plan (2023-2027) that promotes and develops eco-tourism, health tourism, cultural tourism, services, and standardized conferences, including public relations. The tourist attractions in Nakhon Nayok are diverse, encompassing both natural and cultural tourism. One of the interesting cultural aspects is "Thai Phuan," which refers to Phuan people who migrated from Xieng Khouang, Laos, and settled in various provinces in Thailand. Some of them reside in Pak Phli District, Nakhon Nayok Province, with interesting cultural elements including lifestyle, dress, language, food, and traditions.
From field research, the researcher found that walk-in tourists receive limited information despite the availability of various tourism promotional materials in both print and online media. However, the community lacks interactive media on-site that provides information and creates new tourism experiences. Interactive media is effective in combining multiple media types such as still images, animations, text, sound, or participatory activities. Quality content design would help attract more visitor attention.
Therefore, the researcher is interested in studying the identity, traditions, culture, and needs of Thai Phuan ethnic group and tourists in Pak Phli District, Nakhon Nayok Province, to create interactive media that aligns with their needs. The study involved surveying community problems and needs, along with participatory prototype design to reflect community identity. The result was developed into a community mascot inspired by the Suet Suea Suet Pha ceremony, the community's sacred shrine (San Pu Ta), traditional tools and clothing unique to Thai Phuan people, along with the Yellow Cotton Tree flower, which is the provincial symbol of Nakhon Nayok. These elements were applied with Augmented Reality (AR) technology to enhance information presentation and community data accessibility, as well as enable sharing to increase tourist awareness.
Worapun Surasawadee Pannat Tanaspansarrat Copyright (c) 2025 Faculty of Industrial Technology, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0 2025-06-30 2025-06-30 6 1 12 20 Character Design and Visual Development for LINE Stickers: ‘Yoga Teacher’ https://so02.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/jdecho/article/view/278343
This study explores the character design process for LINE stickers by developing a character named “Yoga Teacher,” targeting female yoga practitioners aged 20–40. The objective is to create a character that functions as an emotional and expressive representative for users in a messenger application, LINE. The research applies key theoretical frameworks, including character design principles, Super Deformed (SD) proportion, color theory, and user-centered design through the creation of a persona. The design process is structured into three main stages: research and development, finalized visual design, and production. Using freehand vector illustration on iPad applications, a set of 40 LINE stickers was created, incorporating a range of expressions, gestures, and short messages reflecting the personality of a modern yoga enthusiast. Following the production stage, user feedback was collected from 30 participants through questionnaires. The results indicate that 93.3% of respondents understood the communication of the character, while 90.0% found the character’s appearance appropriate for representing yoga practitioners. These results confirm the effectiveness of integrating theoretical frameworks with a well-defined persona in enhancing emotional connection and clarity in visual communication. The sticker set was later published on the LINE Creators Market and selected for exhibition at the ADA 2022 International Exhibition of Art, Design, and Architecture, underscoring its potential for further development in commercial creative industries.
Warakorn Chaitiamvong Panuwat Sitheechoke Copyright (c) 2025 Faculty of Industrial Technology, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0 2025-06-30 2025-06-30 6 1 21 32 Design of a Gamification-Based Game to Promote Cultural Tourism: A Case Study of Nan https://so02.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/jdecho/article/view/278500
This creative research aims to 1) explore the concept of gamification and design a gamified experience that enhances user engagement in perceiving and understanding local arts and cultural narratives, and 2) propose a design approach for a game and its mechanics that emphasizes learning and user participation in engaging with the cultural content of Nan Province. The study focuses on transmitting local cultural knowledge through a motivational, enjoyable, and exploratory gameplay experience. Player learning behavior was studied and analyzed alongside cultural data to design the content, game mechanics, and player experience of a prototype game titled Culture Quest. The game applies gamification principles and the MDA Framework ( Mechanics, Dynamics, and Aesthetics) to shape gameplay systems and user experiences that promote fun, engagement and learning through interactive in-game activities creatively linked to realworld locations in Nan. The research found that the most suitable gameplay model is the Open World format, which allows for the integration of in-game missions and activities to assess learning through gameplay. This model aligns with player motivations that favor autonomy and freedom in exploration. Key gameplay elements that effectively encourage prolonged engagement include a progression system, task-oriented goals, visible outcomes, creative interaction, exploration, and the collection of in-game items. The design of the prototype successfully incorporates these gameplay mechanics to foster engagement and participation. It seamlessly blends spatial learning with cultural content, providing an experience that captures the player’s interest.
Nattakamol Toongsuwan Wichai Yothawong Copyright (c) 2025 Faculty of Industrial Technology, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0 2025-06-30 2025-06-30 6 1 33 43 Study and develop handwoven cotton products of Pha Tho Mue Ban Han Sai group Han Sai Subdistrict, Aranyaprathet District, Sa Kaeo Province https://so02.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/jdecho/article/view/278547
The purpose of this research is to 1) investigate the issues and requirements for the development of hand-woven cotton goods in the hand-woven fabric group of Ban Han Sai, Tambon Han Sai, Amphoe Aranyaprathet, Sa Kaeo Province.
