TY - JOUR AU - Hongsa, Chatmethee AU - Ngamchitcharoen, Watchara PY - 2021/12/30 Y2 - 2024/03/29 TI - Guidelines for Improvement of the Curriculum of Ecclesiastical Pali Studies of Thai Sangha JF - Journal of Buddhist Studies Chulalongkorn University JA - J Bud Stud Chula VL - 28 IS - 3 SE - Research Articles DO - UR - https://so02.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/jbscu/article/view/247662 SP - 1-36 AB - <p>This research article aims to study the guidelines for improving the curriculum of Ecclesiastical Pali Studies of the Thai Sangha in order to render it more up-to-date and more efficient in accordance with Buddhist Scriptures Study Act 2562 B.E.</p><p>The study finds that the curriculum of ecclesiastical Pali studies of Thai Sangha should be improved as follows: students should study both Pali and the doctrines in the scriptures profoundly; the Tipi aka and its commentaries should be studied together at all levels so that students may master the Tipi aka more proficiently than in the current curriculum in which only the commentaries are studied; more monographs, texts, and research works should be included in the studies so as to provide students with knowledge of both Buddhism and the other sciences. Measurement and evaluation should also be changed in accordance with the modern curriculum. The curriculum should be gradually but continuously improved, starting from easy to more difficult aspects, and should be implemented as soon as possible in order to keep up with social changes and to comply with Buddhist Scriptures Study Act 2562 B.E. and Regulations of the Board of Buddhist Scriptures Study on the Administrative Structure and Management of Buddhist Scriptures Study and a Place for Buddhist Scriptures Study 2563 B.E.</p> ER -
