Out of 373 participants, most are men aged 41-50 with doctorate degrees. The highest levels of burnout are depersonalization (25.47%), emotional exhaustion (20.91%), and reduced personal achievement (15.82%). Eighty-seven respondents are experiencing burnout. Females are 34% more likely to experience it, while those aged 51-60 have a 34% chance. Single individuals have a 31% higher likelihood of experiencing burnout, while those with a doctoral degree are 32% more likely. Academic positions, such as assistant professor (56% higher) and assistant dean (67% higher), also increase the likelihood of burnout. Work factors, such as starting careers (0-10 years), having over 21 years of experience (34% and 33%, respectively), and working overtime for 11-20 hours per week (58% higher), also contribute to burnout. These findings are not just informative but crucial for understanding the prevalence and causes of burnout among Thai university instructors. They can guide the development of effective human resource management policies in higher education institutions, addressing burnout and improving staff well-being and efficiency.
Nuchjaree Pookkaman, Auttapon Sripradit, Waraporn Theerasak Copyright (c) 2024 Journal of Arts Management https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0 https://so02.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/jam/article/view/271232 Mon, 30 Sep 2024 00:00:00 +0700 Communicating the Soft Power of Thailand’s Cultural Heritage through Traditional Sport (Thai Chess) https://so02.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/jam/article/view/269725
This study interpreted communication, soft power, art, culture, and traditional sport regarding Thai chess, also called “Makruk.” The objectives are 1. To study soft power in Thai chess. 2. To understand soft power's role and communication style on the Thai chess board. 3. To study trends or possibilities in the sport of Thai chess as a soft power, a kind of power. The research is mixed methods. From a sample of 543 people, research tools include questionnaires, interviews, and a study of historical documents. Evaluation with computer programs for social research found the answers to the question asking for places or sources people who are interested in chess know about chess, as follows: Thai people under 18 years old and 19–29-year-olds know about chess from school, accounting for 47.89%. And 38.70%, aged 30-49 years, know from movies/movies. They account for 25.00% of those aged 50-59 years, known from family members. Accounting for 15.03 percent, those aged 60 and over are knowledgeable about Thai chess from their school days. Additionally, 6.13 percent of people of all age groups love Thai chess as it is a traditional sport. Thai chess has a long history of being a soft-power game and began to be competed around 1952. For objective 2, the study found that age does not have a significant effect on the facial expressions, gestures, and emotions of the opponent. The results were significant at the 0.05 level, with a p-value greater than 0.05, indicating nonverbal communication. Additionally, the players' personalities were found to communicate their traits. 3) Thai chess should be promoted because it has its own unique identity. It's a sport that reflects the strategy of organizing troops for war. It cleverly simulates battlefield situations on the board and also highlights the role of soft power in arts, culture, and traditions.
Palphol Rodloytuk Copyright (c) 2024 Journal of Arts Management https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0 https://so02.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/jam/article/view/269725 Mon, 30 Sep 2024 00:00:00 +0700 The Culture of Pu'er Tea in Yunan: Development of Cultural Awareness in Term of Puer's Culture in China https://so02.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/jam/article/view/271485
The paper aims to study (1) The development of Pu'er tea culture in China. This is documentary research, and the results found that: 1) There are 2 types of meditation: Samatha and Vipassanā. The Buddha taught that defilements, or the AkusalamŪla 3, (Lobha: greed, Dosa: hatred, Moha: delusion), are the real roots of all problems and cause human suffering and harm to others, of which Moha has the most influence, which is directly eliminated by meditation. Because of the mental state from the Upacārasamādhi levels (Samatha), the 5 Jhanas arise to eliminate the Nīvaraṇa 5 (5 hindrances), resulting in pure, peace, still, and steady, then entering Vipassanā to exterminate the Saṁyojana 10 (10 fetters). If meditation can eliminate defects in the human mind, it results in mitigating social problems. 2) Social problems are occurrences of social disorder until a large group of people are recognized and find a way to solve it together. It can be divided into many issues. Most solutions are based on the effects of the problem, which is a solution at the end of the cause or from the external dimension only; there is still a lack of cause analysis from the human mind according to Buddhism, and 3) Meditation practice is directly related to alleviating social problems because AkusalamŪla 3, the root of all social problems, especially delusion, which meditation can directly control. Therefore, applying meditation with the M-E-D Model is a guideline for alleviating social problems at the mental level. If the majority of people in society have a calm and stable mind with wholesome deeds and the three defiles are few, social problems can be alleviated concretely.
Suchada Thongmalai Copyright (c) 2024 Journal of Arts Management https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0 https://so02.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/jam/article/view/271571 Mon, 30 Sep 2024 00:00:00 +0700 Development of Riverside Lifestyle Tourism Potential, Nong Suang Village, Krachaeng Subdistrict, Bang Sai District, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province https://so02.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/jam/article/view/269935
The purposes of this article are to 1) study the potential of riverside lifestyle tourism, 2) create development strategies for riverside lifestyle tourism, and 3) design a Business Model Canvas for developing riverside lifestyle tourism in Nong Suang village, Bang Sai district, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya province. The study used a quantitative approach and a survey method to collect data from 385 respondents in Bangkok who were at least 15 years old. Using a random sampling method to determine the sampling pattern is accidental selection because the exact population is unknown. Data were collected using a questionnaire. Descriptive statistics were used to characterize the sample's baseline characteristics, and multivariate analysis applying linear regression was employed to determine the variables influencing the adoption of facial recognition technology for consumer payment transactions. The study found that security, usage intention, social image, and perceived usefulness positively influence consumers' intention to use facial recognition technology for payment transactions, with statistical significance at the 0.05 level. The researcher conducted a study by collecting cultural words found in the subtitles. The study was then divided into two issues: the types of cultural words that appeared and errors in translating cultural words. The results of the study found that: 1. cultural words that appear in the captions can be divided into five categories: cultural words related to ecosystems and places, cultural words related to objects, cultural words related to society, cultural words related to religion, and cultural words related to language; 2. errors in translating cultural words can be divided into three types: mistranslation, missing in translation, and inappropriate word choice. The type of cultural words with the most errors are cultural words related to objects, with 66 words; secondly, cultural words related to ecosystems and places, with 50 words; thirdly, cultural words related to language, 45 words; fourthly, cultural words related to language, 29 words; and the last, cultural words related to society, 25 words from the results of the said study. It can be concluded that the translator did not study the novel and the drama script in detail. Therefore, causing a lack of understanding of the author's art of language use. Along with the translator, there may be a lack of knowledge about cultural words in the Thai language. This may be because the drama is a story that happened in the Ayutthaya period; many cultural words are ancient languages, which may be difficult to understand. Therefore, the translator did not give importance to this part.
Prapat Noklerdpun, Kewalee Petcharathip Copyright (c) 2024 Journal of Arts Management https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0 https://so02.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/jam/article/view/272743 Mon, 30 Sep 2024 00:00:00 +0700 Perceptions of Health Media Produced by Agencies Under the Ministry of Public Health https://so02.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/jam/article/view/271695
This research has the following objectives: 1) to study the perception of health media produced by agencies under the Ministry of Public Health, and 2) to study the demand for health media produced by these agencies. That is, in the case of the Organic Act, the Constitution of the Kingdom of Thailand, B.E. 2017, however, the Constitutional Act has specified to be more special than the Act in the enactment process; it does not specify that the Organic Act has a hierarchy or legal status higher than or equal to the Act; therefore, we will have to wait for the Constitutional Court's decision on direction to take, in the case of announcements and orders of the National Council for Peace and Order (Revolutionary Council Announcement). Although the Constitution of the Kingdom of Thailand has provisions to guarantee three procedures for repeal or amendment, namely, to be made into an Act, to be a Cabinet resolution, and to be an order of the Prime Minister, there is no mention of canceling or amending the orders of the National Council for Peace and Order, which has a status equivalent to the Constitution and remains controversial.
Abhiradi Kittisiddho, Sittikorn Saksang, Sombat Wongkamhaeng Copyright (c) 2024 Journal of Arts Management https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0 https://so02.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/jam/article/view/271471 Mon, 30 Sep 2024 00:00:00 +0700 The Factors Affecting Voting Decision of the Member of Parliament in Nakhon Si Thammarat province of the Constituency 3, A Case Study of General Election in B.E. 2023 https://so02.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/jam/article/view/273119
This research aimed to (1) Study the Factors Affecting Voting Decision of the Member of Parliament in Nakhon Si Thammarat Province of the Constituency 3, A Case Study of General Election in B.E. 2023, and (2) Comparison of Voting Decisions for the Election of the Members of the House of Representatives of Nakhon Si Thammarat Province, Constituency 3, in the Case of the 2023 General Election, Classified by Personal Factors.
