The objectives are 1) to study the relationship of characters in Ramakien, patterns of Khon masks including role and duty of people in society, 2) to synthesize information and interpret from figurative language to create contemporary Khon masks, and 3) to convey the ideas through an art exhibition.

The research employs qualitative methods through the following research tools: 1) record forms for six characters from the Ramakien epic that have governance-related relationships, and 2) Interview forms for three administrative staff members from Poh-Chang Academy of Arts. Because the roles and duties are metaphorically related to the expressions "wearing the Khon mask" and "taking off the Khon mask," the research findings are as follows:

1) The study found governance-related relationships among the characters in the Ramakien. These relationships include governance by division (avatars), governance by lineage, and governance by succession. Interviews with administrative staff revealed that they all metaphorically "wearing the Khon mask" to perform various roles and functions, sometimes simultaneously embodying multiple avatars. Key phrases from the interviews include "mask layering," "wearing the Khon mask," and "transforming faces."

2) The creative outputs consist of three contemporary Khon masks that represent the three forms of governance relationships. These include the human mask with a layered face, the monkey mask covered by the shape of Khon mask, and the ogre mask displaying a half-finished state of transformation. The designs and creation methods focus on primary visual elements, such as color and form, layered to reflect the relationships between characters in the Ramakien literature.

3) The works were presented in the "Live Life Learn" exhibition at the Ratchadamnoen Contemporary Art Center. The exhibition used symbolic comparisons to link the meanings of the Khon masks and metaphors with roles and duties, aiming to stimulate viewers' imaginations. This approach influenced viewers' emotional perception and interpretation of the artworks, fostering positive attitudes and intellectual empowerment by encouraging aesthetic emotional responses.
2025-06-26T00:00:00+07:00Copyright (c) 2025 Journal of Fine and Applied Arts Khon Kaen Universityhttps://so02.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/fakku/article/view/269479The Unity of Poetry and Painting and Aesthetic Spirit in the Creation of Chinese Landscape Painting2024-06-16T17:33:44+07:00Yongliang Liu115544646@qq.com
The integration of Chinese landscape painting with poetry has been emphasized since the beginning of landscape painting practices, as landscape painting is not only a way to convey information, but also a way to convey emotions. The fusion of these two mediums began in the Wei and Jin dynasties of China, and with the rise of literati painting in the Tang and Song dynasties, Chinese landscape painting placed more emphasis on expressing the artistic conception of landscape painting, forming a unified creative model of poetry and painting. With the development of the times, the literati improved their cultural cultivation, integrating poetry, calligraphy, painting, and printing, as well as expressing emotions in landscape works, forming a unique spirit of brushwork and artistic character. Landscape painting has also become an expression of the artist's personality and spirit.
2025-06-26T00:00:00+07:00Copyright (c) 2025 Journal of Fine and Applied Arts Khon Kaen Universityhttps://so02.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/fakku/article/view/270035Creative Dramatic Arts Performance: NomNod2024-08-07T08:49:36+07:00Wilaiwan Chailangkankang-ka@hotmail.com
The purposes of this article were to study the background history of the process of making palm sugar and Nom Nod, toddy palm cake, which are the local unique sweets in Phetchaburi Province, and to design the creative dramatic art performance, Nom Nod Dance. The research of the study used the qualitative design method as the study was divided into three steps, 1. data collection, 2. data analysis, and 3. the creation of the performance. The research was conducted under the ethical approval of the human research project at ECPB_R 17/2566, certificate number 34/2566. The study found that the process of making palm sugar and Nom Nod in Ban Rai Krang community, Rai Sathon Sub-district, Ban Lat District, Phetchaburi Province, still preserves the traditional methods. For example, the ingredients that give Nom Nod’s sweet aroma including the properly cooked of toddy palm sugar. An important unique feature of Nom Nod is its wrapping in "I-men" leaves, which emit a pleasant fragrance when heated, combined with the aroma of the dessert ingredients. However, no one has yet created a dance performance based on this dessert. The researcher decided to create a dance performance to serve as a provincial symbol. The primary sources of information included farmers who work with palm sugar and have more than 20 years of experience in making palm sugar and Nom Nod. The process involved collecting data, synthesizing, designing dance moves, and creating a creative dance performance called " Nom Nod." The performance was presented to a committee of experts for critique and refinement.
2025-06-26T00:00:00+07:00Copyright (c) 2025 Journal of Fine and Applied Arts Khon Kaen Universityhttps://so02.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/fakku/article/view/270348Develop Health Products from Local Wisdom Towards an Elderly Economy (Silver Economy) Group of Products from Wisdom for the Health of K. However, there is limited research in Thailand on integrating such training into medical education. This study developed an 18-hour acting course for Thai medical students, based on Konstantin Stanislavski’s principles of creative state of mind, communion, and imagination, incorporating empathic communication training. The course was piloted with 6 medical students to refine the curriculum and then tested with 21 participants to assess its effectiveness. 19 participants communicated with simulated patients before and after the course to evaluate skill improvement. Mixed methods were employed to assess the course design. Over 90% of participants reported that acting techniques enhanced empathic communication and benefited their medical training. Participants showed increased communication skills across all areas, with notable improvements in empathy and body language. They noted that drama enhances both personal and interpersonal skills, with imagination being a key feature, making it a valuable tool for medical education and applicable to other healthcare professionals.
2025-06-26T00:00:00+07:00Copyright (c) 2025 Journal of Fine and Applied Arts Khon Kaen University
