Economic Value and Competitiveness of Jasmine Growers in Kao Liao District, Nakhon Sawan

Abstract

This Article aimed to study (1) to study and analyze the characteristics of production, marketing, supply chain and competitiveness of jasmine growers 2) Analyze the cost and financial return on jasmine planting investment and 3) analyze and plan operational strategies for jasmine growers. Use the concept of economic value analysis and analysis of strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. The research area is Kao Liao District. Nakhon Sawan Province. The sample group consisted of 36 jasmine farmers using purposive random sampling. The research tools used were questionnaires and in-depth interviews. Data were analyzed using content analysis. The research results found that

1. Most of the production costs of farmers are variable costs that are daily labor wages. Chemical product values and the cost of chemical fertilizers, respectively. The selling price of jasmine flowers is based on the market mechanism, with middlemen coming to buy them at the garden or within the village.


2. Farmers have financial returns worth their investment, and farmers with large jasmine plantations have the best financial returns.


3. Farmers who invest in small areas The size of planting areas should be expanded in order to achieve economies of scale in costs and get more returns. Production techniques should be adjusted to reduce risks from changes in the prices of production factors and emphasize on getting the products to the market during the period. that has high consumer demand in order to make it worth investing in growing jasmine flowers

Knowledge from the research includes that farmers should expand investment in growing jasmine in larger areas. Because investing in a larger area, the returns will increase. Faster payback period It is more cost-effective to use fixed costs. As a result, there is an increase in economies of scale in costs.
