The Success and Sustainability of Baan Marong Village, a Strong Village of Land of Dharma, Land of Gold, Bang Saphan District, Prachuap Khiri Khan Province

Abstract

The objectives of this study were to  (1)  evaluate  the success of Baan Marong Village,a Strong Village of Land of Dharma, Land of Gold, (2) compare  the opinions on  the success of Baan Marong Village, a Strong Village of Land of Dharma, Land of Gold, classified by personal factors (3) recommend the guidelines to maintain the success of Baan Marong Village, a Strong Village of Land of Dharma, Land of Gold, to  sustainability.  This research comprised quantitative and qualitative approaches. Samples of 203 were village inhabitant. Instrument used were questionnaire and in-depth interview used to collect data from community leaders and committee. Quantitative data were analyzed using frequency,   percentage, mean, standard deviation, one way ANOVA  F-test, t-test, and content analysis,  while SWOT and TOWS Matrix were used  for  qualitative analysis. The findings revealed that, (1) the  success of Baan Marong Village in the overall view was  at a high level (2) samples with different ages and level of educations had different opinions with .05 level of statistical significance (3)  guidelines to maintain  the success:  proactive strategy : village development plan formulation in accordance with  government policy so to facilitate budget supporting;  reactive strategy:   encouraging the people to apply principles of sufficiency economy in their  living; defensive strategy: supporting the people to learn more of cost reducing in agricultural products production; remedial strategy:  the application of modern technology to improve the public database system.
