Integrative Collaboration of Local Government Organizations in the Provision of Public Service Delivery in Primary Health Care

Abstract

This Article aimed to study (1) the level of integrative collaboration in the provision of public service delivery on collaboration in primary public health of local government organizations and (2) to examine the factors of integrative collaboration in the provision of public service delivery on collaboration in primary public health of local government organizations. The sample were 373 village health volunteers (VHVs) in Sukhothai Province selected using multistage random sampling. The instrument for collecting data was a questionnaire. Analysis data by frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation and multiple regression analysis. The research results were found as follows;

1. VHVs had high level in collaboration in primary public health of local government organizations, both overall and each aspect (disease prevention, health promotion, treatment, and rehabilitation).

All four factors (leader’s role, communication, appropriateness of policy implementation, and personal characteristics) could be explained for 63.4% of the variance of collaboration in primary public health of local government organizations. Furthermore, it also found that leader’s role and communication had effect on collaboration in primary public health of local government organizations with statistically significance at level .01.

The implication of this research points out that local government organizations should stress the leader’s role and communication in developing collaboration in working for the provision public service delivery in primary public health.
