Application of Prejudice of People in Decision Making of Election to the Chief Executive of Na Mo Bun Subdistrict Administrative Organization, Chulabhorn District, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province

Abstract

Election of people's representatives as representatives in local administration is very important for democratic governance. A right decision will lead to local development, but a wrong decision will lead to damage to the local area as well. The objectives of this research article were:  1) to study an application of prejudice of people in decision making of election to the chief executive of Na Mo Bun subdistrict administrative organization, Chulaphorn district, Nakhon Si Thammarat province; and 2) to study guidelines for applying of prejudice of people in decision making of election to the chief executive of Na Mo Bun subdistrict administrative organization. The sample group consisted of 374 people aged 18 years and over. The sample size was determined using the Taro Yamane formula. Key informants included 10 local leaders, community leaders, and people. The research tools were questionnaires and interviews.   Statistics for data analysis were frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and content analysis

The findings were as follows; 1) The overall of an application of prejudice of people in decision making for the election of the chief executive of Na Mo Bun subdistrict administrative organization was at a moderate level. When considering each aspect, the principle of delusion (prejudice caused by delusion or stupidity) was a high level and the principle of hate (prejudice caused by hatred or enmity) was at a low level. 2) guidelines for applying of prejudice of people in decision making of election to the chief executive of Na Mo Bun subdistrict administrative organization, it was found that the people should (1) adhere to fairness without prejudice; (2) be neutral and honest; (3) consider policies and performance; and (4) use the principle of cause and effect.
