Political Communication to Reduce Conflict in Thai Society from Perspective of Female Politicians

Abstract

Conflicts in Thai society are mostly a product of politics at both the national and local levels that continue to exist and are expected to continue in the future. Therefore, political communication is extremely important and is a key issue that led to this study. The study aims to study political communication guidelines to reduce conflict in Thai society from the perspective of female politicians. Data were collected from documents and in-depth interviews with four female politicians. Data were analyzed using content analysis. Validity was verified using triangulation by examining individuals from academics, experts, and related review literature in the conflict in Thai society. The findings of this study were as follows: 1) the four important components of political communication were the sender, message, communication channel, and receiver, and 2) the guidelines for political communication that reduce conflict in Thai society in a sustainable way were sincerity, respect, politeness in communication, listening to different opinions, being open-minded and not rushing to judge others, and using social media and technology mindfully and intelligently
