วยาคติต่อบิดามารดาสูงอายุ: กรณีศึกษาสมาชิกวัยหนุ่มสาวในครอบครัวไทย

งานวิจัยนี้เป็นการวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพแบบพหุกรณีศึกษา มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาลักษณะ สาเหตุ และผลกระทบของวยาคติที่คนหนุ่มสาวมีต่อผู้สูงวัยในครอบครัวเมือง ผู้ให้ข้อมูลเป็นคนวัยหนุ่มสาวที่อาศัยกับหรือมีปฏิสัมพันธ์กับบิดาหรือมารดาสูงวัย แบ่งเป็นหนุ่มสาวในครอบครัวเดี่ยวและครอบครัวขยายรวม 8 ท่าน ผู้ให้ข้อมูลได้รับการคัดเลือกแบบเฉพาะเจาะจงโดยการเข้าถึงผ่านบุคคลรู้จักของผู้วิจัย เครื่องมือในการศึกษาครั้งนี้คือ แบบสัมภาษณ์เชิงลึก ผลการวิเคราะห์เชิงเนื้อหาพบ 3 ลักษณะการแสดงออกแบบวยาคติ คือ ด้านความรู้สึก ความคิด และพฤติกรรม ซึ่งครอบคลุมทั้งวยาคติเชิงบวกและเชิงลบ ในขณะที่สาเหตุของวยาคติครอบคลุมสาเหตุด้านมุมมอง คือ การตระหนักถึงความไม่ยั่งยืนของชีวิตและความเข้าอกเข้าใจ และสาเหตุทางสังคมวัฒนธรรม ซึ่งเกี่ยวข้องกับค่านิยมการดูแลบิดามารดา สำหรับผลกระทบของวยาคติต่อสภาพจิตใจและสุขภาพร่างกายของบิดามารดา พบว่า โดยส่วนมากเป็นผลในเชิงบวก การศึกษาวยาคติภายใต้บริบทที่แปลกใหม่นี้สะท้อนว่า การที่คนหนุ่มสาวตระหนักถึงความแก่ชราของบิดามารดาสูงวัยมีความสำคัญต่อวยาคติเชิงบวกที่คนหนุ่มสาวแสดงต่อบิดามารดา ซึ่งส่งผลดีต่อบิดามารดา หน่วยงานที่เกี่ยวข้องสามารถนำข้อค้นพบไปพัฒนาแนวทางเพื่อส่งเสริมความสัมพันธ์ที่ดีระหว่างคนวัยหนุ่มสาวกับผู้สูงวัยในครอบครัว
