Beh Sci f Dev VL - 11 IS - 2 SE - Academic Articles DO - UR - https://so02.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/JBSD/article/view/181956 SP - 1-16 AB - <p><strong>Abstract&nbsp; </strong></p><p><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p><p>This article analyzed the impact and the prevention guidelines for eating disorder behavior from behavioral science perspectives, together with knowledge of integrative sciences, including psychology, sociology, &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;anthropology, and other disciplines in a bid to understand eating disorder behavior&nbsp; by using The Triadic &nbsp;Influence Theory. Hence, this article aimed to describe the eating disorder behavior among Thai women in three main issues: 1) Basic understanding of eating disorder behavior, 2) Impact of eating disorder behavior, &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;and 3) Prevention guidelines for eating disorder behavior. The results showed that psychosocial factors influencing on having good shape and eating disorder behavior among Thai women, both late adolescents &nbsp;&nbsp;and early adulthood, consisted of attitudes towards eating disorder behavior, perception on self-control of having good shape, social acceptance from peer groups for having good shape, model of having good shape from media, access of beauty services for having good shape, and decisions on eating disorder behavior yielded direct influence on eating disorder behavior, except for the economy status of the family, with indirect impact through decisions on eating disorder behavior. This resulted in physical, mental, emotional, and &nbsp;social impacts, leading to the prevention guidelines which mainly focused on each individual and&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;surrounding peers or friends.</p> ER -
