However, Thai dairy farmers encounter significant challenges that impede their competency and productivity. This academic research aims to explore these challenges and suggest communication strategies to enhance the proficiency of dairy farmers in Thailand.

Despite the sector's steady growth, structural constraints such as small-scale operations and limited access to resources significantly hinder efficiency. Additionally, the quality of feed, animal health issues, and fluctuating market dynamics exacerbate the difficulties faced by farmers. To address these challenges, the paper advocates for integrated communication strategies informed by theoretical frameworks such as the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), Diffusion of Innovation theory, and the Knowledge-Attitude-Practice (KAP) theory. Proposed solutions include tailored workshops, enhanced extension = services, and the integration of mobile technology to empower farmers and foster sustainable agricultural development.

Collaborative efforts with stakeholders and adopting a sustainable livelihood approach are essential for building resilience in the sector. Future research should investigate the integration of digital technologies and the role of social networks in further enhancing farmers' competency. Acknowledging the limitations of the current study, robust interventions can be designed to support the Thai dairy industry effectively.
2024-06-28T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2024 Journal of Business, Innovation and Sustainability (JBIS) https://so02.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/BECJournal/article/view/264575 The Effect of Thai Baht Volatility on the Employment Rate in Thailand 2023-08-18T08:53:09+07:00 Wichaya Sittiruk Wichaya.ws@gmail.com Danai Tanamee danait@g.swu.ac.th
The purposes of this study are to identify the effects of Thai Baht volatility on the employment rate in Thailand by using the Autoregressive Conditional Heteroskedasticity model to identify the volatility of the exchange rate as an independent variable and to make a comparison between each independent variable, such as the exchange rate between the Thai Baht and the US dollar, Real Effective Exchange Rate, moving average of the exchange rate, Gross Domestic Product, the Thai population, gold price, the number of employees, and total size of the Thai labor forces, the researcher decided to use multiple linear regression as the model for this research to study the relationship on employment rate in Thailand. The research instrument used in collecting the data is secondary data, the sample size is 110 months in a time series collected from January 2011 until February 2020. Based on the investigation, it was concluded that the exchange rate volatility using the autoregressive conditional heteroskedasticity model has little effect on the Thai employment rate, but a movement in Thai Gross Domestic Product (GDP) affected the employment rate in the same direction with a high statistical significance and the number of Thai populations aged 15 to 60 years also affected the employment rate with high statistical significance, but in the opposite direction.
2024-06-28T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2024 Journal of Business, Innovation and Sustainability (JBIS) https://so02.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/BECJournal/article/view/264638 Designing Chilled Warehouse Layouts by Data-Driven Approach 2023-11-24T09:24:00+07:00 Grerg Suriyamanee grerg.s@cmu.ac.th Jirapat Wanitwattanakosol jirapat.w@cmu.ac.th Nadthawat Muenmanee nadthawat.mu@cmu.ac.th
This paper aims to understand the current storing practices in a chilled warehouse and proposes a new warehouse layout using a data-driven approach. The products, temperature, and humidity data were collected to explore the warehouse's current practices and environment. The authors used ABC analysis and the postharvest management technique to design the layouts by determining the product's essential characteristics and requirements. The author collected the data from one of Thailand's cold chain warehouse providers from January to April 2022. However, the authors discovered that there is limited research relating to cold chain warehouse layout design. It is difficult to determine the correct layout design due to the dynamic range of products in this warehouse type. The authors found that the current storage practice could be improved in many ways. Redesigning the warehouse layout is one improvement that will create new standard procedures in the depositing and withdrawing process. It could improve the warehouse's operation by reducing the operation time and ensuring a smoother flow of tasks within a tight timeline. Also, keeping the inappropriate product nearby could affect the product quality. Some products are sensitive to ethylene, which could directly affect product appearance and quality. It could result in faster product spoilage than the usual shelf life. Another finding is that each case study chilled warehouse room area has a different temperature and humidity. In the case of not storing the product in an appropriate area that matches the product's characteristics, those factors could directly affect the product's quality and appearance. In the end, the author has suggested two layouts that take into account the characteristics and requirements of the most active product this company has deposited and withdrawn as a primary factor.
2024-06-28T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2024 Journal of Business, Innovation and Sustainability (JBIS) https://so02.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/BECJournal/article/view/264640 Developing a Supplier Evaluation Conceptual Framework for Humanitarian Supply Chains 2023-11-27T14:02:07+07:00 Huay Ling Tay hltay@suss.edu.sg Kieven Teo kieventeo001@suss.edu.sg
Performance measurement in the humanitarian sector is a somewhat under-researched area. To our knowledge, there seems to be a lack of a supplier evaluation framework for humanitarian organisations to categorise their critical suppliers - strategic and bottleneck suppliers related to high supply risk purchases. This study addresses three fundamental research questions: the existing landscape of supplier evaluation in the humanitarian sector, challenges encountered in this process, and the essential criteria for evaluating Strategic and Bottleneck suppliers with high supply risk. The overarching goal is to construct a conceptual framework tailored to the evaluation of suppliers with elevated supply risk. Through synthesizing insights from literature reviews, interviews, and additional validation from a humanitarian field expert revealed four primary criteria areas for evaluating Strategic and Bottleneck suppliers. These criteria align with five of Carter’s 10 Cs: Communication, commitment, capacity, cost, and cleanliness. The proposed framework encapsulating these five Cs as the critical criteria for ensuring satisfactory performance in procurement contracts enables HOs to methodically assess their high risk suppliers.
2024-06-28T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2024 Journal of Business, Innovation and Sustainability (JBIS) https://so02.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/BECJournal/article/view/264639 A New Model of Sustainable Supply Chain in Sport Tourism 2023-09-21T16:10:58+07:00 Krongthong Heebkhoksung krongthong30@gmail.com Wanchai Rattanawong wanchai_rat@utcc.ac.th Varin Vongmanee varin_von@utcc.ac.th
Growth in the sport industry and accessibility to information lead to interests in sport and tourism. In response to the increasing needs and market demands, sport tourism supply chain management (“STSM”) has gained recognition steadily for its contribution to revenue, especially to the area of sport venue. By organizing activities, either tourism or competitions, the area gains economic benefits from the incomers. Therefore, sport tourism and related factors for supply chain management should be investigated in detail. This study proposes a new model of STSM by combining the concept of sustainability balanced scorecard with supply chain management from five perspectives: the Internal process perspective; customer perspective; financial perspective; sustainability perspective and learning and growth perspective. To comprehend factors in sport tourism development, the researchers conducted a systematic literature review and identified the factors as well as the indicators of the STSM. The result, concluded from opinions of experts in tourism, sports and supply chain under the Delphi method, shows that 18 elements and 52 indicators are relevant to the development. By categorizing the elements into 5 perspectives, the model presents key aspects of the development of the STSM to apply in strategy development in industry and reduce the impacts on environment as well as increase efficiency in organizing activities.
2024-06-28T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2024 Journal of Business, Innovation and Sustainability (JBIS) https://so02.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/BECJournal/article/view/264641 Challenges and Opportunities Regarding Circular Strategies for Electric Vehicle Components in Thailand 2023-10-09T10:47:04+07:00 Bob Nanthakorn bob.nanthakorn@gmail.com Erik Sundin erik.sundin@liu.se Mattias Lindahl mattias.lindahl@liu.se Ruth Banomyong ruth@tbs.tu.ac.th
Aim: The purpose of this research is to explore the challenges and opportunities regarding circular strategies in the automotive industry for electric vehicle (EV) components in Thailand. This model integrates the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) with the Item-Objective Consistency Index (IOC) and the Rating Scale. Centering on Kho-Khun beef products, the study offers a comprehensive decision-making framework. The prowess of the MoAHP Model shines through its hierarchical assessment of decision factors, providing enhanced precision in brand selection compared to current methods. By amalgamating expert insights with consumer preferences, the model emphasizes key factors like brand identity, lucid communication of product features, and consumer trust. The MoAHP Model bestows distinct scores upon the evaluated brands: Brand X at 82.65%, Brand Y at 91.34%, and Brand Z at 87.09%, with a clear inclination towards Brand X. Influential factors in brand selection comprise the product brand image (B1) with a weightage of 0.5579, and a confluence of interest, uniqueness, trust, and satisfaction associated with the product brand (B4) having a weight of 0.2633. Statistical analysis using paired sample t-tests confirms significant differences in brand selection scores between Brand X and Brand Y, Brand X and Brand Z, as well as Brand Y and Brand Z. Ultimately, the study introduces a groundbreaking approach to brand selection, providing practical insights for competitive markets and broadening the applicability of the AHP framework across various contexts.
2024-06-28T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2024 Journal of Business, Innovation and Sustainability (JBIS) https://so02.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/BECJournal/article/view/265791 Investment Strategies in Covid-19 Pandemic: Comparative Analysis of Stock Investment Performance in the SETTHSI Index and the SET100 Index Utilizing Dollar Cost Averaging (DCA), Lump Sum (LS), and Value Averaging (VA) Strategies 2024-01-22T09:54:49+07:00 Tharitsaya Kongkaew tharitsaya@rmutt.ac.th Chirawat Saengpao chirawat_sa@rmutt.ac.th
This study aims to compare the effectiveness of three strategies—DCA, LS, and VA—within the SETTHSI and SET100 indices for the period spanning 2020 to 2022. The evaluation will be conducted with a one-year investment horizon, utilizing both the Investment Rate of Return (IRR) and Sharpe ratio to assess returns, and standard deviation to gauge risk. The simulation approach involves evaluating portfolio performance, which includes stocks from both SETTHSI and SET100, using these three strategies over a 12 month time frame for three consecutive years. This results in a comprehensive analysis of 6 portfolios. The findings reveal that during 2020-2022, investing in SET100 stocks, which are characterized by their large size, outperformed SETTHSI, which focuses on sustainable stocks. Furthermore, the study demonstrates that utilizing the VA strategy proves to be the most effective approach for achieving an average return when investing in stocks from both the SETTHSI and SET100 indices. While LS investments may be perceived as carrying lower risk, particularly for short-term investments. Investors may want to consider choosing the VA strategy over LS and DCA as their short-term trading strategy and investing in large-cap stock, especially if they are inclined toward crisis investment.
2024-06-28T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2024 Journal of Business, Innovation and Sustainability (JBIS) https://so02.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/BECJournal/article/view/267100 A Glimpse of Push and Pull Factors Affecting Chinese Luxury Hotel Staying Behavior in the Post-Pandemic Era 2024-01-11T09:36:20+07:00 Woraprat Yoelao worapraty@nu.ac.th
In the present day, Chinese consumers have the opportunity to experience stays in upscale hotels, leading to an increased interest in luxury hotels within this customer group. It’s using historical annual data from 1992-2022, which is quantitative analysis. It’s using an econometric model in the form of a multiple regression equation. The research found that the study of technological change has a positive impact on the economic growth of Chachoengsao Province by the total economic sector is equal to 0.0043 percent and there is difference in each production sector. However, the production branch has the highest rate of technological change that is the mining of metal and non-metallic minerals are equal to 0.3998, followed by the commerce sector, service sector, construction, repair and demolition sector, transportation, warehousing and transportation sector and the handicraft industry sector with technological change rates are equal to 0.0791, 0.0507, 0.0372, 0.0142 and 0.0088, respectively. Moreover, the manufacturing sector in the field of public utilities and sanitation and the fields of agriculture, hunting, and fishing had a rate of change in the negative direction are equal to -0.0131 and -0.0080, respectively. As for the factors affecting the change in growth of the entire economic sector as a whole and every branch of production uses capital factors more than labor factors. As for the analysis of the influence of factors that determine technological change results in each production sector differently as well. It was found that the investment promotion factors of Chachoengsao Province and the factors of the number of unemployed workers in Chachoengsao Province it has the most relationship in the same direction and the factors of foreign direct investment at the country level, national technology and patent fee factors, national inflation factors and the factor of national research and development expenses has an opposite relationship with the value of output in both of economic sectors as a whole and each production sector is the most. So, this research provides recommendations to the government and related agencies by giving priority to workers with a high level of education and solving the problem of decreasing unemployment rates within Chachoengsao Province. Including providing benefits and support for foreign investment and domestic entrepreneurs in order to achieve growth in both of all economic sectors and each production sector at Chachoengsao provincial and national levels.
2024-06-28T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2024 Journal of Business, Innovation and Sustainability (JBIS) https://so02.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/BECJournal/article/view/267291 Determinants Affecting the Flow of international Travelers in the ASEAN Region: Does Institutional Quality Matter? 2024-02-07T15:12:33+07:00 Chanatip Suksai chanatip.s@bu.ac.th Nisit Manotungvorapun nisit.m@bu.ac.th
This paper investigated the institutional determinants affecting the flow of international travelers to the ASEAN region. The primary aim was to assess the influence of institutions by using proxy variables; such as regulatory quality, the rule of law, control of corruption, and government effectiveness. Secondary data from the World Bank, Worldwide Governance Indicators (WGI), the World Economic Forum, and the ASEAN Secretariat from 2011 to 2019 were analyzed. Employing panel data regression analysis as the methodological approach, the finding revealed that institutional factors are significant in attracting international tourists, precisely in the context of regulatory quality and the rule of law. This paper recommended reinforcing institutional frameworks, including enhancements in regulatory quality, legal practices, adherence to the rule of law, and good governance, deemed essential for most ASEAN countries. For example, upgrading the regulatory framework involves establishing specific mechanisms for transparency and accountability across tourism institutions. This covers conducting regular audits, public reporting, and comprehensive capacity-building programs for public officials and employees within these institutions. These measures can vitally mitigate the risk of misconduct and uphold the tourism image and reputation, fostering trust and confidence among foreign tourists and enhancing the attractiveness of the ASEAN destinations as a whole.
2024-06-28T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2024 Journal of Business, Innovation and Sustainability (JBIS)
